On January 1, 1986 D & D Air Conditioning opened its doors. At the age of 25, I ushered in a new concept in air conditioning service. Before D&D Air Conditioning there were two types of air conditioning companies. First there was the Technical Company who understood the principals of how an Air Conditioning System should operate and did a quality installation, but did not understand what the customer wanted. The other type was the Marketing and Sales Air Conditioning Company who understood what the customer wanted but lacked the technical abilities to accomplish what they promised; I merged these two types of companies to set a new standard in Air Conditioning.
Since 1986 we at D&D Air Conditioning have established an unparalleled reputation as a high quality air conditioning contractor on the West Coast of Florida. As the years have passed what used to be customers #1 concern has changed. In the beginning customers were concerned about adding air conditioning to their existing homes or lowering their electric bills. Today the #1 concern is Indoor Air Quality along with high efficiency equipment with long warranties. With our reputation of consistent high customer satisfaction and long history in Florida we were awarded the first Maytag dealership in the state of Florida and the 2ND in the nation. In the same year after taking advance training in indoor air quality we became one of Honeywell’s top indoor air quality specialist and a pro Contractor. In 2006 Maytag came out with the most energy efficient unit on the market, the IQ drive. We continue to sell more IQ drive units the any other dealer in America. In 2009 we partnered with Amana and became an A-plus dealer. With Maytag and Amana we are able to offer the two of the most recognized names in the manufacturing industry.
It’s now been 25 years and my two oldest children Brian, 26, and Kelli,28, manage the company carrying on the tradition we started in 1986. Kelli whos only child just celebrated his first birthday and Brian is set to marry his high school sweetheart, Caroline Birnie. Their 19 year old brother, Eric, a recent graduate of Sarasota high,and has finished his first semester at State college of Florida. My youngest son, Austin is a freshman at Riverview High school where he played on the golf team andwhere he is on the JV basketball team, which is coached by his older brother, Brian. Last is my beautiful wife Beth who tries to make everyday better than my last.
